Paige

Cake wreck #2. OK, the cake turned out adorable, but it was supposed to have 4 tiers! I understand there is nothing I can do to prepare myself to NOT drop a cake, it's just an accident!...but now I have done it twice...it's getting old. Paige totally picked an amazing cake, I hope I was able to do it justice even a little. Cream cheese chocolate cake, red velvet cake, and lemon cake...all with cream cheese filling.

'Tis The Season

I decided to enter a gingerbread house contest...I was proud, it turned out soo cute! But apparently all the other contestants were professional gingerbread architects! So, alas, no winning for me. But it's totally cute, huh!?

Sally

Ahhh, my nemesis...buttercream. We all know it tastes better than fondant, I just loathe it! I love the flawless look of fondant, and I HATE that buttercream is practically impossible to make smooth. Reguardless of the my issues with the tastey frosting, the cake turned out pretty cute. Cream chees chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream filling, french vanilla cake with bavarian cream, and french vanilla with bavarian.

Hannah

This wedding was very pretty! Her cake was two tiers of french vanilla with bavarian cream, and one fench vanilla with strawberries.

Birthdays, Birthdays, and...a Birthday!

BIRTHDAY AND BABY
Well, here is my first official cake wreck...you would not realize from the picture, because I did't include it. It was for a 60th birthday and a baby shower combined. I made 7 dozen adorable baby bites, and a 2 tier "turtle" cake (chocolate with caramel filling...soooo delish). Yes, you read that correctly...2 tiers, that is where the wreck comes in. I was there on scene, just about to add the 2nd tier to the top, when FLOP! it lands upside down on the table! Luckily it landed solo, and not on top of the bottom layer. The family was very understanding and we decided to just display one tier, for obvious reasons. I was so frazzled I never even got pics of the baby bites...but we all know how cute those are.

SOUTH KOREAN PRINCESS
Once upon a time there was a little girl born in South Korea. One day a magically wonderful family came and adopted her, and took her home with them to the United States! Over the next year she learned what most girls learn fairly quickly, and that is that she is a girl...and therefore a princess. Good thing she figured this out in time for her 2nd birthday! Her mom wanted her to feel special like a princess, but still incorporate her heritage...so we did cake bites with the South Korean flag, and some princess ones too. And then added a "smash" cake shaped like a crown. This family will definately live happily ever after!

I DIDN'T DO IT...OH WAIT, I DID
This Bart Simpson cake was for Jason's birthday...a total hit! French vanilla cake with raspberry filling.

KAILEE BUG
This was a suprise cake for a girl named Kailee...aka: Kailee Bug. French vanilla cake with strawberries and cream filling.

BOB...BUT FOR ELI
This cake was for Eli's birthday, who absolutely loves "Monsters VS Aliens". French vanilla with chocolate buttercream.

COOPER'S 4TH BIRTHDAY
Have you ever had the moment where you have your child's birthday all planned out...and it's going to be awesome! You are going to do a Peter Pan theme, make a pirate ship cake, your child is soo excited! Then, the night before the party, your child says, "I can't wait for my MOTORCYCLE party!" (screeching record comes to a halt, er...what?) So what is a mother to do?...throw a motorcylce party. Now don't get me wrong...if I had done any real planning for the party, I would have said "too bad sweet child of mine." But as it turns out, I hadn't even started to bake yet, so I made a different cake...with a motorcycle. It turned out great, three tiers with a road spiraling around the outside. Chocolate/chocolate chip cake with bavarian cream cheese filling, french vanilla cake with raspberry/lemon filling, and french vanilla with chocolate buttercream filling. No regrets!

FOOTBALL CUPCAKES
...to take to school, chocolate cake with cream cheese baked in the middle!
