Two-Face birthday cake!

We have an old family friend that has been around since my husband was little. They were best friends growing up and he always made her a confetti cake for her birthday. Well, this year her husband asked me to make her a cake....needless to say, my husband had to put "his touch" on the cake. So we came up with the idea that he could do half, and I could do half! What do you think? The cake was still all the same inside, confetti with rainbow chip filling.

I had to put a picture up with her decor in the background, because it was the whole theme that made it cute! Just kind of that country classic feel. Her cake was cream cheese chocolate with whipped chocolate ganache, french vanilla cake with cheesecake filling (yes, real cheesecake...why didn't I think of that!), and confetti cake with strawberry cream cheese filling.

Mindee and soon to be Zoee!

I saw this cake and couldn't wait for an opportuntiy to make it! It turned out adorable. Congratulations to Mindee and Austin and their bun in the oven, baby Zoee! Cake was cream cheese chocolate and my NEW almond poppyseed, with my NEW vanilla custard filling in each!

40th Wedding Anniversary...again.

If buttercream is my nemesis...then cream cheese frosting is my super arch-nemesis! No matter how tastey, it is ridiculous to work with! It is so soft and creamy and delicious...and therefore impossible to manage! (I am a hypocrite because this would be MY frosting of choice on any cake). Any how, this cake was topped with flowers that the couple had on their wedding cake 40 years ago (wahoo!) and scripted with their "slogan". (ha ha). Carrot cake and cream cheese chocolate, both with cream cheese filling.
