Cori

Another home run with buttercream! (Maybe I can do this!) Frosted "smoothe" with buttercream, but then I piped on the detailing so it didn't matter what it looked like underneath! Such an easy concept, and yet it is so pretty! Cream cheese chocolate with cream cheese filling, raspberry swirl with raspberry, and cream cheese chocolate with raspberry.

Sarah

Here is a buttercream cake I love....because it wasn't supposed to be smoothe! YAY! I loved having the tiers separated by the platforms and think it definately added something unique to the cake! The pin wheel flowers were made out of fondant and brushed with luster dust to make them a little sparkley. Bottom tier, cream cheese chocolate with bavarian cream filling, middle was raspberry swirl with raspberry filling, and top was cream cheese chocolate with bavarian cream too.

Bri's Birthday

Pirate's can be for girls too, and here is proof! The pics are grainy, but we did a "map" type tier with a bunch of symbols connected by dots leading to X marks the spot! I topped it off with a treasure chest full of booty for the birthday girl! Cream cheese chocolate cake with strawberry filling.

Anahi's Birthday

This was a circus themed birthday, but all for a girl turning 5, so what better colors than pink and purple! (And I love her name...so pretty!) The mom wanted a couple clowns and a couple circus animals to pull it all together and it turned out great! (Hopefully you can see the close-ups ok). The cake was red velvet with cream cheese filling, french vanilla with raspberry filling, and raspberry swirl with raspberry filling.

Camera Catastrophy

Well...my camera quit on me. Needless to say, the next few posts show that because they are mostly taken from my phone! Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I was trying to wait as long as possible to collect pics from the brides, etc. once they got pictures back from their photographers. So if the quality is bad, you know why, and I'm sorry!

Sheri

The bride went with a smaller cake because it was a second wedding. She couldn't be a more deserving person, she was awesome! She found a cake with a brooch on it that she wanted, but in the end couldn't find a brooch that she liked! So I ended up creating this "mock brooch" to put on the fondant ribbon. The cake was red velvet with cream cheese filling, and cream cheese chocolate with chocolate ganche filling.

Saven's Birthday

Saven had an underwater birthday, so I made the frosting kind of "wavy" looking and topped it with a shell with a pearl inside! Each tier had one layer of strawberry cake and one layer of french vanilla cake with strawberry filling.

Kaylee's birthday!

This might actually be one of my favorite cakes of all time! (I know, that's a little crazy...but I seriously loved how it turned out!) Kylee is in love with this really great artist named Kilsook (Kim Haller) and she was getting her favorite scetch for her birthday. So her family ordered this cake and had me re-create the girl from the picture to put on it. I am so proud with how she turned out! The picture/girl is the one behind the cake, and I definately think she was represented well. The cake was delicious too, cream cheese chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and raspberries for filling, covered in creamcheese frosting and fondant. (I also have become a huge fan of the artist, thanx to doing this cake!)

"who ya gonna call?"....hopefully someone who can make a better Slimer cake!

I pretty much struggled with this cake! They liked it, I however, was very disappointed. It turned out ok, because her husband, Jon, made an AWESOME backdrop to put the cake on, and with all the characters you could actually tell what the cake was supposed to be in the end! Ha ha! It was a lemon cake with rasperry filling.

Jovonna

(This was one of the first cakes I did where I realized there was something wrong with my camera! Sorry, and I am working on getting a better pic). I love how she chose to put the ribbon right around the middle of the tier! Such a simple thing really pulled together the whole cake! She also had me make an extra top tier for them to save for their anniversary.

Kaitlin

Kaitlin had a vintage style going with her wedding, and found this idea for a mock lace to "drape" over the cake. It turned out really pretty, I think! The color got washed out in the room, and I tried to take pictures without the flash, but they kept turing out purple! (The color was grey). So, sorry the pic looks bad! Hopefully her photographer got some better ones!

Kim

Awesome and amazing idea! This cake was so unique and fun to do. She got the idea off a cover of a Martha Stewart magazine, very clever! They ordered the flowers online for a way better price than I could have done them for, and I just made the cake and applied the flowers. (Let me know if you want the link to the flower site). Her cake was french vanilla with lemon, cream cheese chocolate with chocolate ganache, and french vanilla with raspberry.

Wendy

This woman ordered this cake for her step son and his wife, for a family dinner. They were not able to go to the ceremony/reception, but she still wanted to do something special to help celebrate. (There was alot going on behind the scenes...let's just say she amazes me, and is such a bigger person than was called for!)

Jen's graduation!

I must admit this is the most unprofessional picture, but I had to at least get a snapshot of it! This was just a smaller version of a previous cake I did, but she still got the same look. The bottom was cream cheese chocolate with chocolate ganache filling, and the top was lemon with raspberry filling. CONGRATULATIONS! What a huge accomplishment!

Valeri

This bride came in with two very traditional styles for her cake. But, she had a desire to create something unique that maybe played off a tree idea. (She was proposed to in a certain spot where they carved their initials in the tree, and later returned for engagement pictures.) I felt it was imprtant to keep the look of a wedding cake, but try to incorporate the "tree" theme. This is what we came up with...and I LOVE IT! It turned out awesome! Her cake was all french vanilla with chocolate ganache filling, and chopped chocolate covering the buttercream. The groom's cake (batman) was cream cheese chocolate with cream cheese filling. Awesome!
